General Operational Policies
The Smithville Hospital Authority owner of Towers Nursing Home at 907 Garwood, Smithville, Texas.  The Towers Nursing Home is an independent non-profit organization. Access to the Towers Nursing Home can be attained by taking Colorado Drive to Garwood. The nursing home is adjacent to the Medical Clinic and is convenient to churches and shopping areas.

The physical plant of the nursing home is constructed in a fireproof manner of brick veneer with a completely automatic sprinkler system as well as standpipe protection system. Magnetically-controlled smoke doors divide the nursing home into two sections.

The nursing home is licensed by the Texas Department of Human Services as a 114-bed nursing home. Eighty-eight beds are approved by contract with the Texas Department of Human Services for Medicaid Care.

The nursing home has its own laundry service on site for maintaining personal laundry of residents and linen service to assure an adequate linen supply on a 24-hour, seven day a week basis.
